DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Brandon Stirm’s goal midway through the second half gave No. 8 Azusa Pacific University a 1-0 victory over No. 12 William Jewell College in the semifinals of the 2006 NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship Monday (Nov. 20) evening at the Embry-Riddle Soccer Stadium.

The Cougars improved to 17-3-3 and will make their second consecutive trip to the 7 p.m. title match Tuesday (Nov. 21) where they will face the winner of other semifinal match between No. 3 Webber International University and No. 2 Graceland University. The Cardinals ended their season at 18-3-3.

Stirm’s goal was a set piece off a free kick from 25 yards out as he curved the ball into the top of the net over the head of William Jewell’s goalkeeper Andy Shields.
