No. 9 Hastings Holds Off No. 8 Park, 1-0

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. ; A lone goal by Brian Steinart in the first half propelled the ninth-seeded Hastings Broncos to a 1-0 win against No. 8 Park in Friday;s second-round action at the 47th Annual Men;s Soccer National Championship hosted by Embry-Riddle University.

Both teams were evenly matched with both teams tallying four shots on goal and one corner kick apiece.

A poor clearance attempt by a Park defender fell to Nedim Hasanbegovic on the left side. Hasanbegovic;s played the ball in to Steinart, who took on advancing goalkeeper and slotted the ball home for a 1-0 Bronco lead 11 minutes into the match.

Hastings, who improved to 18-1-3, advances to Saturday;s quarterfinal where they will face undefeated top-seed Rio Grande at 7:30 p.m.

Park exits the tournament with the loss, ending the season at 15-4-2 overall.
