Judson College Advances to the Second Round in a 3-0 Shutout Against Concordia (Ore.) University

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. ; No. 15-seeded Judson College advanced to the second round of the 47th Annual NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship held on the campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Wednesday evening after defeating No. 18-seed Concordia (Ore.) University in a 3-0 shutout.

In the 16th minute the Eagles were first to strike as Tim Balatsoukas chipped a pass over the Cavalier defense connecting with teammate Carlos Guillen who netted his tenth goal of the season to give JU a 1-0 lead.

Judson struck yet again in the 32nd minute as Guillen fed Dani Martinez at midfield who blasted home a 10-yard goal to put the Eagles up 2-0 heading into the second half.

In the 50th minute Judson was handed an insurance goal from CU as Balatsoukas;s shot struck the left post and deflected off a Cavalier defender into the net creating an own goal and sealing the Eagle 3-0 victory.

Judson now advances to the second round on Thursday, Nov. 17 when they will face the;No.2-seeded Lindsey Wilson at 4:30 p.m.
