Daytona Beach, Fla. – Day two at the NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship final site began with No. 8 seed Graceland (Iowa) battling ninth-seeded Northwood (Fla.).

Undefeated Graceland got on the scoreboard early when Karina Vega was able to convert on a penalty shot less than three minutes into the game.  The Yellowjackets extended their lead to 2-0 when sophomore forward Chelsea Phillips netted a goal in the 11th minute.  They would take that lead into halftime.

Northwood cut the lead in half less than five minutes into the second half when Katya Salguero scored on a pass from Lisa Ohberg.  Although both teams would have opportunities, neither team was able to score again.  In a very evenly matched contest, Graceland was able to come away with a 2-1 victory.

Graceland improves to 19-0-2 on the year while Northwood ends the season at 17-3.

The Yellowjackets advance to the Quarterfinals and will take on top seed Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) at 4:30 p.m. (EST) on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
