Grand View Edges Concordia (Calif.) 1-0

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. ; Lyall Menzies goal in the 83rd minute gave No. 7 Grand View College a 1-0 victory over No. 10 Concordia (Calif.) University in a second-round match of the 2006 NAIA Men;s Soccer National Championship Friday (Nov. 17) afternoon at Embry-Riddle Soccer Stadium.
The Vikings improved to 19-4-0 and sail on to face No. 2 seed Graceland College in a 2:30 p.m. quarterfinal match Saturday (Nov. 18). The Eagles ended their season at 14-5-1.
Grand View got the lone goal of the match at the 82:21 mark when Menzies collected the rebound off Gustavo Rocha;s initial shot that hit the bottom of the crossbar and headed the ball past Concordia keeper Mike Borst and into the left corner of the net.
Concordia;s best chance to score came in the 78th minute when Conan Hawkins; shot hit the crossbar; however, the Vikings were able to clear the ball out of further trouble.
