Second-half goals give Webber International 3-2 victory over Park

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. ; No. 3 seed Webber International University got two second-half goals as the Warriors rallied for a 3-2 victory over No. 14 seed Park University Thursday (Nov. 16) evening in a second-round match at the 2006 NAIA Men;s Soccer National Championship at Embry-Riddle Soccer Stadium.
The Warriors - making their first-ever appearance in the national tournament - improved to 13-4-0 and advance to the quarterfinals at 7:30 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 18) when they will face the winner of Friday;s (Nov. 17) second-round match between No. 6 Oklahoma Christian University and No. 11 Embry-Riddle (Fla.) University. The Pirates conclude their season at 13-8-1.
With the game knotted at 2, Webber International;s Jon Hermannsson;s initial shot hit the far post before striker Bjorn Asbjornsson collected the rebound and blasted a shot into the left corner of the goal to give the Warriors the lead at the 82:56 mark. Asbjornsson drew the Warriors level at 2 in the 72nd minute with a beautiful pass for Hermannsson who clinically put it past Park goalie Matt Heiman for his second goal of the match.
Webber International got the scoring started when Alex Sesto found Hermannsson open in the box and Hermannson found the back of the net from 10 yards out at the 23:20 mark. Park leveled the match at 1 when Paul McLaughlin fired a laser past Warrior goalkeeper Tony Restino 97 seconds later. The Pirates took a 2-1 lead at the 26:23 mark when Oscar Juma served the ball in from midfield and found a wide open Mirsad Dzilic, who converted the scoring chance from the top of the box into his 24th goal of the season.
