Late Goal Gives No. 18 Milligan 1-0 Victory over No. 15 Concordia (Ore.) 1-0

Said Abdi scored game-winning goal in 83rd minute

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. ; Said Abdi;s goal in the 83rd minute was the difference as the 18th-seeded Milligan College upset No. 18 Concordia (Ore.) University 1-0 in a first-round game of the 2006 NAIA Men;s Soccer National Championship Wednesday (Nov. 15) afternoon at Embry-Riddle Soccer Stadium.

The Buffaloes, who were making their first-ever appearance in the national tournament, improved to 18-6-0 and will face No. 2 seed Graceland University in a 1:30 p.m. second-round match Thursday (Nov. 16). The Cavaliers ended their campaign at 12-6-3.

Milligan got its lone goal at the 82:35 mark when Kyle Wilcox fed Abdi a ball in the box and he placed it perfectly past the outstretched hands of Concordia goalkeeper Garrett Staples and in the left corner of the net for his eighth goal of the season.
