Requesting Library Reserves

Welcome to the Hunt Library's Reserves. If you have not done so already, please read our policy.

In order to quickly process your request, please consult Voyager, our online catalog, to determine whether or not the Hunt Library owns the material you wish to use. After determining which items the library owns, please choose the appropriate option from the choices below. Please note that the library retains the right to place materials on print or electronic reserve at the discretion of the library staff.

Submission Instructions

  1. Fill out the form below. Be sure to check the box regarding the statement indicating that you understand and adhere to copyright restrictions.
  2. In the box below, type or copy and paste your citations designating which items are available at the library and which you will be providing.
  3. If you cannot obtain all of your requested materials from the Hunt Library, please submit original copies of these items along with a print out of this form. Your originals will be returned to you after they have been scanned or at the end of the semester.

Ways to submit your requests:

  • In person at the Hunt Library Circulation Desk.
  • Through this online form. (This option is only available for requests involving materials owned by the Hunt Library.)
  • By mail. Print out and send the completed form to: Reserves, Hunt Library, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, 600 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Daytona Beach, FL 32114-3900.

Citation Instructions

All items must have complete bibliographic citations. This should be enough information for a student to cite the source in a paper using either an APA or MLA format.

  • Article citations should include author, title of journal or conference title, volume number, issue number, month/year, start and end page number, and copyright information.
  • Book citations should include author, title, place of publication, publisher, year, copyright information, and page numbers of the excerpt.
  • Other citations should include enough information to uniquely identify the item. For each citation please indicate what type of document it is (e.g., book excerpt, journal article, etc.)

Warning Concerning Copyright Restrictions

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement. I understand and guarantee that the materials to be place on reserve are in accordance with the above conditions and in compliance with the Copyright Laws.
