Can anyone use the study rooms or are they only available to ERAU students?
The study rooms are intended to be used only by current Embry-Riddle students, faculty, and staff. Alumni, community patrons, and other visitors are welcome to use the individual study carrels, leisure seating, or any other public areas located on all three floors of the library. Please consult the Study Room Use Policy for more detailed information. [Back to Top]
Does the library have photocopy machines?
The library has four photocopy machines near the Circulation Desk. Black and white photocopies are 10 cents each if using coins (there is a change machine on the wall nearby) and 5 cents each if using your Eagle Card. One of the photocopy machines is a color copier, and copies made on that machine are 50 cents each. You may also use the photocopy machines to scan documents to PDFs, which are then emailed to you. How do I donate materials to the library?
Gifts are accepted during business hours (Monday-Friday, 8-5). Please bring your donations to the Circulation/Reserve Desk and our staff will be glad to accept your gift. All gifts are evaluated for addition to the collection according to our Collection Development Policy.
Books that are not added to the collection may be placed in the library's annual book sale.
If you would like to include special bookplates in the gifts, or make a monetary donation to buy materials, please call the Acquisitions Librarian at (386) 226-7758. [Back to Top]
Where do I find a particular call number within the library?
Three (3) important elements are necessary to locate each item: Location, Call Number, and Status.
The Location tells the general area in the library where the item is kept (Reference, Main Shelves, etc.). If an item is listed as being on "Main Shelves," note the particular floor where your item is located (A-H 2nd floor; J-S 3rd floor; T-Z 1st floor). This floor plan will show you the different areas of the library.
The Call Number reveals where the item is located on the shelf (Call Numbers are arranged alphanumerically).
The Status shows whether or not the item is currently checked out (and, if so, when it is due). If the Status is On Shelf, the item should be on the shelf in its designated place. [Back to Top]
Who can use the public computers near the Reference area?
All but fifteen of the public computers in the library are available to all of our library patrons, whether or not they are affiliated with ERAU. These computers are set up for searching the Internet only. Fifteen additional computers are available only to patrons with an ERAU network login. The computers requiring a login will give you access to all the ERAU programs and the P:\ and S:\ drives. Please view our Public Access Computer Use Policy for more information. [Back to Top]
